Stacy MacDonald
Senior Lawyer
Stacy is originally from Burgeo, NL. He has nearly two decades of experience practising law in the Clarenville, NL area.
He graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 1997 with a B.Sc. and again in 1998 with a B.Ed. (Sec) and went on to teach high school biology and chemistry for four years. He later graduated from Dalhousie Law School with an L.LB in 2005 and was awarded the degree of J.D. (Juris Doctor) in 2011.
Stacy has appeared before following Courts and Boards:
- The Provincial Court of Newfoundland and Labrador
- The Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador (Family & General)
- The Newfoundland and Labrador Court of Appeal
- The Residential Tenancies Board of Newfoundland and Labrador
- The Newfoundland Regional Appeal Board
Stacy has also been the Chairperson of the following:
- The Canadian Pension Plan Review Tribunal
- The Financial Services Appeal Board for Newfoundland and Labrador
- The Muskrat Falls Project Land Use and Expropriation Panel (current
Chairperson)
Amongst his many volunteering activities Stacy gains the greatest satisfaction from presenting his ‘How to Become a Lawyer’ seminar to students in communities where there are no Courts or law firms to inform students on what they should be doing ‘now’ to prepare for admission to law school.
